The Oncology Pharmacy Specialist serves as an integral member of the BMT/Hematology team, providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care across both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role promotes continuity of care, supporting complex oncology patients through transplant, cellular therapy, and longitudinal hematology management.
Responsibilities

Optimize medication therapy for transplant conditioning, immunosuppression, supportive care, and complications (e.g., GVHD, infections)
Provide real-time clinical decision support to providers and care teams
Support safe medication use and contribute to protocol development and implementation
Support BMT/hematology clinics through direct patient care, therapy management, and longitudinal follow-up
Manage in-basket messages, treatment plans, and therapy coordination
Provide patient education and counseling for complex oncology regimens
Facilitate transitions of care between care settings

Requirements

∙ Completion of an Oncology PGY2 or fellowship OR
∙ PGY1 plus ≥3 years of oncology clinical specialist experience OR
∙ ≥5 years of oncology clinical specialist experience
BCOP certification is expected within 18 months of hire.

Requirements
~1 min readGraduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program OR possess a Bachelor or Master of pharmacy degree with 10 years of experience required.
Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the State of Nebraska or jurisdiction in which pharmacy practice is conducted required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program, as deemed appropriate for patient facing roles and relevant to practice.
