We are a passionate team of highly skilled engineers and top-tier designers based in Hong Kong. We develop diverse games for the Nex Playground, covering genres like arcade, action, rhythm, puzzle, and educational. Our hit titles include Starri, Bluey, Mirrorama, Cookie Monster, and Tumbobots, Doodle Heads, Elmo Says, etc.
This is a place to collaborate with passionate developers, unleash your creativity, and deepen your engineering skills. You will participate in 1-3 game projects every year, as a game engineer who works on both engineering and product design.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Software Engineering: Build game architecture, UI/UX, gameplay logic, motion control algorithms, and internal tools.
- →Product Design: Participate in game design, rapid prototyping, and iterate based on playtesting feedback.
- →Tech Research: Explore new technologies and share knowledge with the team to drive collective growth.
- →Leadership: (For Senior level) Lead project development, collaborate across disciplines, make key technical decisions, and track progress.
- Growth Mindset: Humble and eager to learn. Active in side projects (open-source softwares, indie games etc.) is a plus.
- Innovation: Creative and loves exploring fresh ideas.
- Audience Focus: Interested in creating family-friendly games for kids, parents, and seniors. (Being a parent is a plus!)
- Passion for Quality: You care deeply about details and aim for world-class quality.
- Engineering Best Practices: You write clean, maintainable, and robust code.
- Tech-Savvy: Broad interest in technology (App dev, Web, Databases, UI/UX, Animation).
- Optimization: Skilled in optimizing memory, GPU, CPU and shader usage.
- Unity Expertise: Familiarity with Unity. Experience shipping high-quality games is a bonus.
- Troubleshooting: Able to fix compilation and runtime errors effectively.
- Prototyping: Able to build rapid prototypes in Unity.
- Tool Creation: Experience building Unity tools (e.g., level editors, data visualizers).
- Communication: Clear expression of technical details. Experience teaching or mentoring others is a plus.
- Leadership: (For Senior level) Proven ability to lead a team to deliver high-quality results.
