SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
The Specialist, Field Services – Rotating Equipment, reporting to the Manager, Reliability, provides frontline, field-based technical expertise in rotating equipment operations and maintenance. This role is responsible for leading and supporting the safe and effective execution of maintenance activities, ensuring high-quality workmanship, equipment reliability, and adherence to established maintenance strategies.
The Specialist will work closely with Reliability Engineers, Condition Monitoring Specialists, and Rotating Equipment Engineers to ensure optimal equipment performance and consistent execution excellence in the field. This position requires a strong onsite presence and hands-on involvement during routine maintenance, turnarounds, and unplanned events.
The position will be based permanently in Brownsville, TX.
- Coordinate and execute in the field with the Rotating Equipment Engineering team to implement improvements in maintenance strategies and work instructions.
- Lead field execution of turnaround and major maintenance activities for rotating equipment.
- Lead field management of Long-Term Service Contracts, Service Bulletins, and specialized rotating equipment tools, in coordination with Rotating Equipment Engineers.
- Develop and execute rotating equipment turnaround work scopes, ensuring readiness and effective field implementation.
- Develop and maintain Maintenance QA/QC plans and ensure field compliance during turnarounds, corrective maintenance, and planned maintenance activities.
- Oversee and validate rotating equipment alignment, installation, and clearances during and post-maintenance, ensuring adherence to QA/QC standards.
- Provide onsite field support for repair, overhaul, and refurbishment of rotating equipment during normal operations and plant outages.
- Ensure field-level quality assurance for rotating equipment spare parts preservation, handling, and installation.
- Interpret OEM manuals and technical drawings to ensure accurate field application, proper BOM validation, and material readiness.
- Drive vendor field execution quality and oversee workshop activities in coordination with rotating equipment engineers.
- Provide rapid field response and troubleshooting support during unplanned events or equipment upsets.
- Support execution of Company Condition Monitoring programs and ensure data quality and timely follow-up actions.
- Participate in and contribute to Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) workshops, providing field-based insights.
- Support initiatives aimed at achieving key performance targets for the Reliability Team through effective field execution and maintenance performance.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline, trade certification, or equivalent industry experience.
10+ years of hands-on, field-based experience in rotating equipment operations and maintenance, preferably with an OEM or operating company.
3+ years of LNG experience.
5+ years of experience supporting maintenance and operations within upstream, midstream oil & gas, or downstream petrochemical sectors.
Experience facilitating or supporting Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Experience with SAP S/4HANA or similar maintenance management systems.

· Routinely uses standard office and field communications equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers w/scanner and fax, and radios.
