Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Engineer/ Principal Engineer Systems to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.
The Principal Engineer / Engineer Systems will perform requirements analysis and requirements verification activities.
We are seeking a dynamic Systems Engineer (SE) to provide technical support to a high visibility capability upgrade program. The successful candidate will coordinate with all SE disciplines—Safety, Requirements & Verification, Specialty Engineering, etc. —towards ensuring the program goals are appropriately met for Requirements & Verification. This role demands a technically driven and organized individual, whom supports the overall goals of the team and program.
Roles and Responsibilities will include:
- Support Spec Development (to include creation of verification statements)
- Support internal (NGAS) technical meetings
- Requirements & Verification Management (DOORS)/JIRA
- Ensure requirements are captured, traced, and verified throughout the lifecycle.
- Participate in working group discussions with government customers
Requirements
~2 min read- Familiarity with Atlassian software and collaboration tool set (Jira and Confluence).
- An active, In-scope DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance.
- Previous or existing Program Access Request (PAR).
- Ability to work on your own initiative and learn independently once trained.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a close team environment.
- Proficiency in Model-Based tools (e.g., Cameo).
- Must have a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering, OR a Master's Degree and 0 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering.
- Must have a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering, OR a Master's Degree and 3 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering, OR a Ph.D. and 1 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering.
- Must have an active US Government Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain US Government Top Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by business needs.
- Experience with Systems Engineering principles
- Demonstrated experience in one or more Systems Engineering processes, including (but not limited to) requirements development & management, system modeling, system architecture development, interface traceability, integration & test, and verification & validation.
- Broad experience with systems engineering applied throughout the systems “V” lifecycle model.
- Proficiency in requirements management and tools such as IBM DOORS.
