Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Manager Software Engineering 2. This position is located in Clearfield, UT, for ICMB Sustainment, supporting the Minuteman III Operational Targeting Program (MOTP).
Responsibilities

- →Assessing staffing needs, current as well as projected and working with the respective team leads to address those needs.
- →Supporting recruitment activities including the creation of requisitions, conducting interviews, and approving offers.
- →Establishing personal program and functional goals as well as performing quarterly connections and merit adjustments for subordinates.
- →Provide their subordinates with career development recommendations, mentoring, discipline, as necessary.
- →Generate training plans based on the program and their subordinates' needs.
- →Provide regular flow down of company and organizational status and appropriately represent and be a spokesperson for the Software Engineering organization to their group, assigned project, and the company.
The candidate will have the following technical responsibilities 80%:
- →Design and implement Python-based test automation, including use of tools such as JAZZ, to verify requirements.
- →Design, develop, and implement test methods, procedures, and equipment.
- →Apply sound Systems Engineering methods and best practices.
- →Navigate and utilize requirements management tools such as DOORS.
- →Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) with an understanding of DoDAF and SysML.
- →Define test parameters and specify tests to be performed.
- →Compile and analyze test data to identify required changes to test equipment, procedures, or requirements.
- →Plan, execute, and report on test activities, including integration support.
- →Conduct element integration, regression, and verification/validation testing, including checkout in system test labs.
- →Demonstrate technical experience with networks, computer hardware and software, and interconnection/interfacing technologies.
- →Collaborate with systems engineers, software engineers, and lab users to ensure test requirements are met.
- →Develop and release engineering documentation, including:
- →Data analysis against requirements and interfaces for each software build or hardware component.
- →Coordination with software developers and systems engineers in support of verification.
- →Detailed test reports to support formal system verification.
- →Develop and execute short- and long-term integration plans for multiple concurrent baselines.
- →Integrate subsystem functionality into system capabilities per design, with emphasis on system stability and performance.
- →Participate in technical interchange meetings, interface with internal and external customers, and contribute to a broad range of program deliverables.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. Position may offer relocation assistance
Requirements
~3 min read- Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, or Master's degree with 6 years of experience, or 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree.
- Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need. Ability to obtain a Top Secret
- Experience executing test plans and procedures for Software and/or Hardware
- Automated test and data collection experience (development or execution)
- Experience in software development using languages such as C++, Python
- Experience with MBSE, software design & requirement management
- Automated test and data collection -- Python, Jazz, cucumber, etc..
- Current Security+ Certification
- At least 1 year experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
- Experience leading Software Engineering teams
- Operate independently with limited to no supervision, and the ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers
- Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to solve issues and predict potential programmatic and technical risks
