Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a Staff Systems Safety Engineer to join its team of diverse and qualified individuals. This position will be located in Roy, Utah or Huntsville, Alabama and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program in the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) division.

~1 min readThe Sentinel program has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join the team supporting activities including use case development, requirements definition / allocation, functional decomposition, interface definition, verification & validation, and requirements traceability.
Requirements
~1 min read- Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
- 12 years of experience with a Bachelors of Science degree,10 years with a Masters, 8 years with a Doctorate degree in science, engineering, applied mathematics, computer science, aeronautics, safety, or closely related technical discipline
- Experience using MIL-STD-882E or similar processes for hardware and /or software design development
- Lead a team in software safety processes in Engineering and Manufacturing Development Phase
- At least 4 years of using DO-178 or DO-254 for design development
- At least 5 years experience with C/C++, Java, object oriented design or similar software development experience
- Experience developing in an Agile environment
- Model Based Systems Engineering experience
- Experience developing missile flight systems software
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) / Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certificate
- Weapon System experience (Minuteman III or similar military or industry experience)
- Active Top Secret clearance with investigation in the last 6 years
