Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Technical Writer / Technical Editor. This position is located in Roy, Utah and supports the Sentinel program.
This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Responsibilities

Write, rewrite and/or edit test plans and procedures utilized by the test team for test execution

Engage in working groups to support team goals, with responsibilities for technical writing tasks and maintaining related processes

Provide technical reviews of supplier SDRLs and write and deliver CDRLs in accordance with applicable DIDs
- →
Acquire subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, and engineering documentation
Requirements
~1 min read2 Years of experience with a Bachelors degree; 0 Years with a Masters. An additional 4 years of experience can be considered in lieu of a degree
Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Strong PC skills and proficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and advanced publishing tools (Adobe FrameMaker, Acrobat, Illustrator)
Familiarity with Life Cycle Databases (CPLM, DOORS, CAMEO)
Experience interpreting SDRLs, CDRLs, DIDs
Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality technical documentation that complies with DoD standards and complex engineering requirements
Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and system description documents
- Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certified and/or FCC Licensed with General Aviation experience (Radios/Communications)
- Experience with USAF Flight Manual and/or Maintenance Manuals
- 3+ years’ experience writing S1000D XML or Mil-STD-38784 SGML
- Familiarization of Industry standards of practice writing DOD Operator technical manuals (MIL-STD-63029) or Technical Orders (MIL-DTL-7700)
