POSITION PURPOSE:
The purpose of this position is to provide Alarm Monitoring and Visitor Control services to the National Defense University (NDU).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor and execute site security checks on critical assets, restricted areas, and communications facilities.
• Monitor Lenel Security system equipment for proper operation.
• Inventory and Monitor badges and keys.
• Provide information and assistance to employees, visitors, and guests.
• Control, issue, and maintain a record of visits.
• Verify all personnel entering the facilities by ensuring all personnel present a Badge or identification (i.e., Common Access Card (CAC)). Cross-reference it with the Lenel Security.
• Issue a temporary visitor’s badge as required.
• Ensure all monitoring of alarm situations, provision of intrusion detection, access control verification, and reporting of emergencies.
• Ensure performance of an analysis and assessment of any alarm annunciations from the security system and notify the proper authorities.
• Report all malfunctions of the alarms systems, CCTV displays, card readers, and the Lenel security systems.
• Must maintain logs and report all incidents to the proper authorities.
