Adjunctive Therapist - CTRS, Per Diem/On-Call (Sacramento)

The AT Therapist delivers structured therapeutic recreation services through group and individual sessions using modalities such as art, movement, exercise, occupational‑based activities, and leisure interventions. Working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary treatment team, the therapist develops and implements individualized activity therapy treatment plans and applies sound therapeutic recreation theory and methodology in all patient interactions. The role upholds organizational ethics, customer service standards, and a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement while supporting patient stabilization, engagement, and functional recovery in an acute behavioral health setting.

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related field with a CTRS certification.
• One year experience in a health care field with emphasis in activities and/or recreational therapy.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Current HWC (Handle with Care) or to be completed during initial orientation period.
• Knowledge of psychiatric and addictive disease diagnoses and treatment.
• Demonstrated group process, teaching or training skills.
• Experience in psychiatric care environment preferred.

• Maintains confidentiality of patients at all times.
• Sensitivity to and willingness to interact with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds.
• Proficiency with software and/or equipment (Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.)
• Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize projects, work relatively independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively as well as possessing the skills to lead, influence, and motivate others.
