We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records, supporting month-end and year-end closing activities, managing banking reconciliations, payroll accounting, and contributing to financial reporting. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and experience working in fast-paced environments.
Maintain accurate and timely accounting records in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, provisions, and account reconciliations.
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
Ensure the integrity of the general ledger and investigate accounting discrepancies.
Monitor balance sheet accounts and perform detailed reconciliations.
Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts.
Reconcile credit card (TDC) transactions, payment processors, and merchant settlements.
Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies between bank statements, accounting records, and operational systems.
Monitor cash movements and support treasury-related activities.
Ensure the proper recording of customer payments, refunds, chargebacks, and banking fees.
Support payroll accounting processes by validating payroll calculations, taxes, employee benefits, and deductions.
Record payroll-related journal entries and ensure accurate accounting treatment.
Reconcile payroll accounts and statutory liabilities.
Coordinate with HR and external payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
Monitor payroll provisions, vacation accruals, bonuses, and other employee-related liabilities.
Prepare monthly financial reports and supporting schedules for management.
Analyze financial information and identify unusual variances or trends.
Provide recommendations to improve accounting processes and financial controls.
Support budgeting and forecasting activities when required.
Assist in preparing reports for senior management, investors, and auditors.
Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to audit requests.
Maintain proper documentation for accounting transactions.
Participate in implementing and strengthening internal controls.
Ensure accounting documentation is complete, organized, and audit-ready.
Partner closely with Finance, Operations, Customer Service, Product, and other business teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Support new product launches by evaluating accounting impacts.
Collaborate with external vendors, banks, auditors, and tax advisors when necessary.
Provide accounting guidance to stakeholders across the organization.
Identify opportunities to automate accounting processes and improve operational efficiency.
Participate in ERP implementations, system improvements, and process optimization initiatives.
Develop standardized procedures and documentation for accounting operations.
Leverage accounting software such as CONTPAQ, NOI, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or other ERPs to streamline workflows.
Prepare financial reports and presentations in both Spanish and English.
Communicate accounting matters effectively with local and international stakeholders.
Support meetings with auditors, finance leadership, and external partners when required.
Requirements

CPA (or equivalent certification) is a plus.
3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Experience in financial services, fintech, banking, or high-growth companies is preferred.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Power Query, Lookups, financial modeling).
Experience with ERP systems (CONTPAQ, NOI, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics, or similar).
Experience with banking reconciliations, payroll accounting, and financial analysis.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Advanced English (written and spoken) required.
