Full Time Rotational Nanny Position (Norfolk, CT)

Location: Norfolk, CT, with regular time at a second residence in New York City
Compensation: $30–$35 per hour
Commitment Level: Full-time, live-out, long-term
Guaranteed Hours for two weeks: 168 hours
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 8:00 AM–8:00 PM, Monday through Sunday coverage on a two-weeks-on / two-weeks-off rotation shared with a second full-time nanny; flexibility possible for the right candidate

Position Overview

A warm, active family in Norfolk, Connecticut is seeking an experienced, highly organized full-time rotational nanny to care for their three young children: a 3-year-old, a 1-year-old, and a newborn. This is a collaborative position shared with a second full-time nanny on a rotating schedule, so strong communication and smooth handoffs are central to the role. The family is looking for someone nurturing, calm, proactive, and confident managing the needs of multiple young children in a busy household — someone who works well as part of a team, maintains thoughtful professional boundaries, and becomes a trusted presence in the home. The position includes regular travel to the family's New York City residence as well as frequent domestic and international travel. The family has two friendly medium-to-large non-shedding dogs, so comfort around dogs is essential. Candidates local to the tri-state area are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, engaging care for three young children, including a newborn
• Manage daily routines including meals, naps, diapering, dressing, and age-appropriate structure
• Plan and lead enriching, developmentally appropriate activities at home and in the community
• Coordinate and attend outings, classes, playdates, and appointments as needed
• Support newborn care during the day while keeping the older children engaged in the mornings
• Prepare simple, healthy meals and snacks for the children
• Maintain children's spaces, including tidying toys and play areas
• Handle children's laundry and clean up after meals and snacks
• Communicate clearly with the parents and the rotational nanny to ensure consistency and smooth handoffs
• Accompany the family on travel to their New York City residence and on domestic and international trips
• Assist with light family meal preparation if desired — a bonus, not required

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of professional childcare experience
• Significant newborn and infant care experience
• Must be able to provide 3–5 professional references
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle; a family vehicle is not provided
• Passport-ready and willing to travel frequently, including internationally
• Comfortable and confident around dogs
• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
• Adaptable, discreet, reliable, and comfortable with changing schedules
• Ability to swim is a plus
