Position Overview
A warm, growing family in Chevy Chase, MD is looking for an experienced full-time nanny for the first year of their second child’s life. The family will welcome a newborn in spring 2027, and their son will be about 18 months old and in preschool when the role starts. The nanny will mainly care for the newborn and will also help with the toddler before and after preschool.

The family is raising their children with Hebrew language and Jewish cultural traditions at home. They are looking for a nanny who speaks Hebrew, or at minimum has strong knowledge of Jewish customs, holidays and traditions, to support those values day to day. This is a wonderful chance to join a family early in their search and build a lasting bond with both children.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide attentive, nurturing full-time care for a newborn, including feeding, diapering, bathing, soothing and safe sleep practices
  • Support healthy newborn routines and developmental milestones, keeping parents informed with daily updates
  • Care for the toddler before and after preschool, including drop-off and pick-up as needed
  • Engage the children in age-appropriate play, language development and early learning
  • Speak Hebrew with the children and support Jewish cultural traditions, holidays and customs in the home
  • Handle child-related household tasks, including baby laundry, bottle and nursery upkeep, meal prep for the children, and keeping play areas tidy
  • Keep a calm, consistent and loving environment that follows the family’s parenting approach

Requirements:

  • Hebrew-speaking strongly preferred; at minimum, strong knowledge of Jewish customs, holidays and traditions
  • Proven professional nanny experience with newborns and infants
  • Experience caring for toddlers is a plus
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (infant/child)
  • Must be able to provide 3–5 professional references
  • Able to commit to a 12-month role, with openness to a longer term
  • Reliable, nurturing, and communicates well with parents
