What We Offer
~2 min readA family in Rye, New York is seeking an experienced Nanny/Family Assistant to support three children ages 7, 6, and 4. This is a dual role — hands-on childcare during the morning and after-school blocks, with family assistant and household support during the mid-day hours while the children are at school. It is primarily live-out with a sleep-in component: the nanny stays overnight 7–10 nights per month and otherwise returns home at the end of the day. Hours rotate with a second nanny so the family has continuous coverage.
The home is staffed with a second nanny and housekeeping. The Nanny/Family Assistant is a day-to-day point of coordination for the children's routines, the family calendar, and household logistics. The family does not have a tutor on staff and is seeking someone who can personally tutor the children at an elementary level. A background in teaching, education, or formal training in early childhood education is a strong plus. Spanish is a plus, not a requirement.
The children have one to two weeks off from school roughly every six weeks, plus summer vacation, and the family travels during these periods. The nanny travels with the family, with schedules on the road running in extended blocks — approximately two weeks on followed by time off. When the second nanny is traveling or on vacation, this nanny provides live-in coverage for the duration. Summers include stays in France and Nantucket, so a valid passport is required. The family is looking for someone deeply dedicated to their household — a career professional who is fully invested in the children, flexible with the family's rhythm, and committed to staying long term.
