- Position: Histology Technician
- Location: Evanston Hospital
- Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
- Hours: Monday-Friday, 5:30am-2pm, e/o weekend and rotating holidays
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Processing tissues using Xpress microwave rapid tissue processor
- →Embedding: Manual and Automated using Sakura Auto TEK embedder
- →Microtomy of paraffin embedded tissue blocks both manual and auto embedded
- →Recuts of tissue blocks
- →Special Stains
- →IF cryotomy of skin specimens
- →Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Laboratory Science and Histology routine training or Completed accredited Histology Technology program.
- →Certification: HT/HTL Certificate (ASCP), equivalent or eligible.
- →Experience: 1 year experience in Histology Laboratory preferred
- →Unique or Preferred Skills: Ability to perform manual embedding and microtomy of paraffin embedded tissue blocks.
