Position: Histology Technician
Full Time & PRN
Locations available may include : Evanston Hospital & Swedish Hospital, Chicago

Responsibilities

Processing tissues using Xpress microwave rapid tissue processor
→
Embedding: Manual and Automated using Sakura Auto TEK embedder
→
Microtomy of paraffin embedded tissue blocks both manual and auto embedded
→
Recuts of tissue blocks
→
Special Stains
→
IF cryotomy of skin specimens

→
Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Laboratory Science and Histology routine training or Completed accredited Histology Technology program.
→
Certification: HT/HTL Certificate (ASCP), equivalent or eligible.
→
Experience: 1 year experience in Histology Laboratory preferred
→
Unique or Preferred Skills: Ability to perform manual embedding and microtomy of paraffin embedded tissue blocks.
