Position: Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant - Cancer Center
Location: Highland Park Hospital/Highland Park Cancer Center - Highland Park, IL
Full Time | 40 hours/week
Hours: Shift will vary Monday-Friday, between 6:45am - 6pm, no weekends or holidays. Schedule will be based on clinical needs.

Responsibilities

→Answer phones
→Schedule appointments
→Collect co-payments
→Complete patient registration
→Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
→Check in and check out patient
→Verify insurances
→Greet patients and escort them to exam room
→Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
→Provide front office support as needed
→Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
→Phlebotomy and injections may be required

→Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred.
→Certification: CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred.
→Experience: One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred. On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience.
