Logistics & Supply ChainWarehouse Supervisor

Nuts.com is a self-funded, profitable, rapidly growing multi-channel DTC specialty food and wellness company. We're changing the landscape of snacking on nuts, dried fruit, chocolate and more! We planted our roots in Newark, New Jersey during the Great Depression, selling premium nuts on Mulberry Street's open-air market. We've come quite a long way since then, taking our multi-generational family business online in 1999. Even after 97 years, we continue to pride ourselves in expertly sourcing the highest quality foods and treating our customers like family.

What's our team like? We're driven, collaborative and entrepreneurial. Energy and passion power our business and we look for candidates who share in that excitement to help us continue to build something special.

The Warehouse Supervisor leads the day-to-day operations of the Cranford facility's warehouse and production floor, ensuring customer orders and production goals are met on time, at an efficient cost, and to a high standard of safety and quality. This role oversees staffing, workflow, facility conditions, and team development across warehouse fulfillment and production teams, and serves as the on-site leader in the absence of other operations leadership. This role reports to the Sr. Operations Manager. In case of an absence, then the Production Supervisor will serve as the backup.

This is a full-time position with scheduled hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday-Thursday. The schedule may be subject to change based on organizational and operational needs.

Team & Production Management

  • Lead daily kickoff meetings to communicate goals, priorities, and relevant announcements to the team
  • Build weekly and daily staffing plans that align headcount and schedules to forecast order and production volume across teams
  • Manage the team to ensure all orders and production runs are completed on time, at an efficient cost, and with high quality
  • Delegate tasks effectively across leads and teams to maintain workflow and optimal use of resources
  • Review employee hours and staffing schedules to minimize cost to operate the facility (e.g., reduce unnecessary overtime and temp hours)
  • Track key performance indicators and audit completed work (e.g., packed orders) to identify and correct deviations from quality standards
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, waste reduction, and increased efficiency

People Leadership

  • Maintain employee hours, attendance tracking, and other HR-related needs
  • Develop team members' skills to solve day-to-day operational issues and support short- and long-term goals
  • Maintain open, frequent communication with employees and use engagement survey feedback to guide areas of focus
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and discipline in partnership with leads to support employee performance and adherence to SOPs, safety guidelines, and policies
  • Partner with management to recruit and hire new employees
  • Train employees and provide ongoing coaching to support continuous improvement
  • Communicate terminations when necessary and complete associated processes (e.g., PAFs, manager notifications)

Facility, Safety & Quality

  • Ensure SOPs, GMPs, and OSHA regulations are followed for material movement from raw materials through production to finished product
  • Respond to operational and safety concerns, including safety incidents, in a timely and proactive manner
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment and complete facility walk-throughs, including opening/closing procedures, alarm checks, and equipment checks (e.g., charging stations, ice levels, temperatures)
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to keep equipment in good condition and minimize downtime
  • Oversee facility systems and equipment issues (e.g., alarm system, HVAC, internet) and manage the relationship with the property manager, escalating as needed
  • Ensure trucks are unloaded and shelved in a timely manner, and that inventory is accurately maintained for restocking and picking
  • Process return shipments and communicate with Customer Experience as needed

Cross-Functional & Administrative

  • Serve as supervisor on duty for the warehouse or production floor as needed, and act as backup coverage across functions in the absence of other leaders
  • Attend weekly Operations meetings to stay current on company-wide information and relay relevant updates to the team
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance; may require off-shift work and occasional operation of manufacturing/warehouse equipment

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; certifications in food safety or manufacturing a plus
  • 3–5 years of experience in a production or warehouse setting, preferably in the food industry
  • 2–3 years of supervisory or team management experience
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and experience with HACCP or similar food safety systems
  • Computer proficiency including Google Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to track KPIs and manage staffing to demand
