Skilcraft - Experienced Aerospace Welders (FIRST SHIFT)

• →Reading and understanding blueprints prior to starting a project
• →Sourcing the materials to be used in the project
• →Measuring and cutting materials to specifications
• →Welding materials using the correct materials to join the metals together
• →Checking finished work to make sure that it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprints
• →Able to pass various welding certification tests
• →Works with conventional and precision measuring instruments
• →Performs process inspection, certification, and documentation
• →Maintains welding equipment through maintenance activities

• Skilled at grinding
• Finishes product through us of various manual and power grinding tools
• Performs routine maintenance on grinding equipment

Education:

Preferred - High School / GED

            Required – Completion of Vocational school / Machine Trade school welding  

                                  course

• Possess the practical / technical knowledge required to perform the job
• Basic math ability and understanding of mechanical principles used in sheet
• metal fabrication
• Mechanical ability
• Ability to use measuring instruments to produce parts within decimal

• Must be able to do conversion to and from metric
• General understanding of production, work process and operations Demonstrates proper decision-making skills when needed

• Must be able to reach and grasp parts repeatedly throughout the day
• Lift 45lbs. minimum and up to 60lbs. by self and up to 120lbs. in a “buddy” lift

Specific Vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

• Aerospace fabrication shop conditions
