About the Role
~1 min readThe Vice President, Management Supervisor will lead and oversee the development and execution of strategic medical education programs for our pharmaceutical and biotech clients. This role requires a deep understanding of medical education (promotional/commercial medical education and medical affairs), the healthcare landscape, and the ability to foster strong client relationships. This individual serves as the primary client liaison, communicating client needs to the cross-functional agency team (medical, program management/coordination creative, finance, etc.). The ideal candidate is strategic, a highly motivated, results-oriented leader with a proven track record of success in medical education and client engagement.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and oversight for all assigned accounts, ensuring alignment with client objectives and overall agency strategy. Lead the development of tactical concepts for annual brand planning.
- →Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key client contacts, serving as a trusted advisor and strategic partner. Manage client team engagement with the brand as well as extended cross-functional client teams (marketing, commercial, medical affairs, patient education, market research, agency partners, etc.). Experience with global markets preferred. Proactively communicate, manage meetings, develop and deliver presentations, and be responsive to client questions and issues.
- →Team Management: Foster strong collaboration with internal cross-functional team (medical, program management, creative, finance, etc.
- →Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior team members, fostering their professional development.
- →Financial Management: Oversee account budgets, ensuring profitability and efficient resource allocation. Develop, manage, and reconcile annual/ad hoc statements of work (SOWs), including client alignment, annual brand planning process, and financial reviews.
- →Program Development: Lead and manage the development and execution of innovative and impactful medical education programs, including live and virtual events, unbranded and branded content, enduring materials, and digital initiatives. Ensure project deliverables are efficiently delivered on time and within budget.
- →Compliance and Regulatory: Ensure all programs adhere to relevant regulatory guidelines and industry best practices.
- →Business Development: Contribute to new business pitches and proposals, leveraging expertise in medical education to secure new clients and expand existing business. Seek organic and new business growth opportunities.
- →Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in medical education, identifying opportunities to enhance program effectiveness and client value. Experience in using AI to enhance deliverables, spur creative thinking, and review materials expected.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in healthcare marketing and communications, with a focus on medical education within a healthcare advertising agency or related field.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and growing client accounts.
- Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, including regulatory and compliance requirements and global markets, a plus.
- Ability to think and work independently and as an extension of account and scientific/medical leadership
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Able to collaborate across disciplines within Ogilvy Health to fortify current business and seek organic (current) and new (pitch) business growth opportunities
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel both domestic and global.
