Candidates with significant professional experience are strongly encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will be versatile, capable of teaching both foundation and advanced-level design studios, will demonstrate a clear creative and scholarly agenda, and needs to have a second teaching emphasis, which could include but is not limited to Beginning Design, Graphic Communication, Theory and Criticism, Emerging Technologies, Building Systems, Materials, Professional Practice, or other relevant specialties.

Since 1909, the School of Architecture has provided professional education in architecture and architectural engineering, combining a rigorous design curriculum with a strong emphasis on the integration of technical and theoretical considerations within an enhanced academic environment. As a land-grant university, OSU embraces a mission of education, research, and service to advance the state and broader community.

The school offers three undergraduate degree programs and a Graduate Certificate, supported by a dedicated faculty of 22, collaborating with a growing student body of 550 students.

Degree programs offered through the School of Architecture include:

  • Bachelor of Architecture: NAAB-accredited professional degree
  • Bachelor of Architectural Engineering: ABET-accredited professional degree
  • Bachelor of Science in Architectural Design Studies: Non-accredited degree
  • Graduate Certificate in Integrative Design

The School of Architecture fosters a collegial atmosphere among faculty, particularly through team-taught design studios. Collaborative and interdisciplinary scholarship is encouraged through the school’s integration of architecture and architectural engineering programs and is further supported by the school’s position within the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology. State-of-the-art facilities advance the teaching and scholarship of both faculty and students.
