Responsibilities

  • →Administrative responsibilities, Required
    • →Assists in aligning programmatic operations with accreditation standards
    • →Participates in program evaluation and assessment activities
    • →Assists in reviewing and revising the program’s mission, goals, and competencies
  • →Academic Responsibilities, Required
    • →Evaluates student progress and performance at regular intervals
    • →Assures the availability of remedial instruction
    • →Provides academic counseling and advising students
    • →Provides classroom and laboratory instruction
  • →Service, Required
    • →Participate in student recruitment and the admission review and selection process
    • →Advocates for the Program within the University, community clinical partners, as well as state and national organizations
    • →Serves on committees, both internal and external to the institution, as approved by the program director
  • →Clinical Practice, recommended but not required
    • →Provide medical care within an OSU sponsored clinic
    • →Dedicated to serving as a PA student preceptor

This position uses a dual reporting structure:

  • To the PA Program Director for accreditation, curriculum, programmatic assessment, and operations.
  • To the Department Chair for institutional faculty responsibilities, evaluation, and HR processes.

Requirements

  • Master's (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
    • Clinical experience of two or more years working full-time as a physician assistant
  • Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
    • NCCPA certification
    • Current State License preferably with current DEA, OBNDD license
  • Teaching experience, with an emphasis in PA education
  • ACLS, BLS, PALS certification
  • Knowledge and understanding of PA program organization and administration
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Leadership skills demonstrated by participation in local, regional or national PA programs
  • Clinical Practice, recommended but not required
  • Provide medical care within an OSU sponsored clinic
  • Dedicated to serving as a PA student preceptor
