The successful candidates will support the undergraduate instructional mission of the unit, teaching across the curriculum with an opportunity to teach at least one seminar in their area of expertise. Generalists with areas of interest in machine learning, AI, and cybersecurity would be particular assets. Ability to teach both in-person and online is essential.

The OSU Department of Computer Science (https://cs.okstate.edu) is strongly committed to excellence in research, teaching, and outreach.  The Department offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science, a B.S. degree in Applied Computer Programming, and two new interdisciplinary M.S. programs in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The Department also offers online courses to students at remote sites.  Our recent student enrollment is approximately 420 undergraduate and 100 graduate students across all our majors with expected continued growth over the coming years.

Our department’s mission is to pursue and to publicize research projects in computer science in order to extend the present state of knowledge in the computer field, educate students in all program levels in order to provide them with the knowledge, interest, and ethics to become productive members of the computing profession, and serve as an initial and continuing source of education in the field of computer science.

Oklahoma State University is a Carnegie R1 research institution with a 130-year legacy as one of the nation’s model land-grant universities. Its beautiful Stillwater campus serves as the flagship of the OSU system, which enrolls more than 34,000 students. The College of Arts and Sciences offers exceptional strengths across the natural sciences, social sciences, and arts and humanities, complemented by institutional excellence in engineering, agriculture, and business. Together, these strengths support a collaborative intellectual environment and OSU’s longstanding commitment to research, teaching, and public engagement.

Home to approximately 50,000 residents, Stillwater offers the welcoming atmosphere and affordability of a college town within an hour’s drive of two major metropolitan areas, Tulsa and Oklahoma City. The city benefits from a vibrant, university-centered intellectual and cultural community, with lectures, performances, exhibitions, Cowboy athletics, and traditions such as OSU’s signature Homecoming and Walkaround traditions. The McKnight Center for the Performing Arts brings internationally renowned artists and ensembles, including the New York Philharmonic, to Stillwater, while the OSU Botanic Garden, Block 34 park and amphitheater, Main Street, locally owned restaurants and breweries, parks, trails, and abundant outdoor recreation contribute to the city’s quality of life.
