Senior/Staff Engineer, Liquidity Platform, Data Engineer (Data Platform)
Quick Summary
Own and operate the trade and position platform end-to-end — roadmap, delivery, reliability, incidents, and continuous improvement.
Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or a related field. 4-7 years in software or data engineering, ideally with exposure to trading, middle-office, or post-trade systems .
You will join the team that builds and operates the firm's core data platform — the backbone for market data and trading data across the business. We capture high-throughput market data from global exchanges and venues, run real-time and batch pipelines, and serve a multi-backend data warehouse used by trading desks, quants, and analytics.
Accuracy, reliability, and timeliness are everything: our outputs feed live trading, research, and reporting. We're hiring a Data Engineer to help build and operate this platform end-to-end — from ingestion through pipelines and storage to the infrastructure that runs it all.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Build and operate data pipelines end-to-end — ingestion from exchange/venue APIs (REST/WebSocket), streaming (Kafka), batch processing, and delivery to storage.
- →Develop platform services, tooling, and jobs in Java and Python, with a focus on code quality and operational reliability.
- →Operate and scale our storage backends — Apache Iceberg (lakehouse), ClickHouse (analytics/OLAP), and MySQL/PostgreSQL (transactional) — including schema design and performance tuning.
- →Keep the platform healthy — monitoring, alerting, data-quality checks, backfills, and incident response across pipelines and infrastructure.
- →Support data consumers — trading desks, quants, and analytics — with query support, schema/source onboarding, and client-library maintenance.
- →Drive platform evolution — backend migrations, performance optimization, and CI/CD on Kubernetes — and onboard new data sources and venues efficiently.
- →Work AI-native — use AI coding assistants and LLM tooling to accelerate development, debugging, and data operations, and help the team adopt AI across its workflows.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or a related field.
- 3–8 years in software or data engineering (we'll calibrate level to your experience).
- Strong production skills in Java and/or Python.
- Solid SQL and hands-on experience with at least one of MySQL/PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, or a comparable columnar/time-series store (schema design, query performance).
- Experience building and operating data pipelines (batch and/or streaming) in production.
- Experience integrating with external APIs (REST/WebSocket) and handling real-world constraints — auth, rate limits, partial outages, schema drift.
- An ownership and operational mindset: you care about data quality, monitoring, reproducibility, incident response, and documentation.
- Proactive in using AI tools (AI coding assistants, LLMs) to work faster and smarter, with curiosity about applying AI/ML to data problems.
- Eagerness to learn — open to picking up Rust and new storage technologies as the platform evolves.
- Strong communication skills; comfortable working across business and technical teams.
- Fluency in Chinese and English.
