About the Role

~1 min read
We are looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer to join the OEX Mobile Growth team — a pure mobile team sitting at the intersection of engineering rigour, consumer growth craft, and product instinct. This is not a feature delivery role. You will sit upstream of requirements, shape initiatives alongside product and business stakeholders, and own the engineering end-to-end on growth bets that move real metrics for millions of users. The ideal profile combines a solid engineering foundation, hands-on growth experience serving mobile users, and the conviction to bring proposals, not just execute them.

Responsibilities

~1 min read
  • Own the full engineering lifecycle of mobile growth initiatives - from shaping the brief with product and business through to production launch and iteration.
  • Build and optimise growth systems - including funnel instrumentation, referral mechanics, acquisition loops, and experiment frameworks — directly serving the mobile user base.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Manager, Business Development, and local market teams across multiple regions to translate commercial goals into concrete, data-backed engineering proposals.
  • Apply AI coding tools actively in your workflow to accelerate development, improve code quality, and bridge across tech stacks where needed.
  • Drive technical decision-making on growth infrastructure, articulating trade-offs clearly and defending or revising your positions based on evidence.
  • Mentor engineers on the team and help establish a culture where engineers bring solutions, not just responses.

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of shipping production-quality systems at scale.
  • Hands-on growth engineering experience — funnel optimisation, experiment frameworks, acquisition or referral systems — in a consumer-facing (ToC) product context.
  • Understanding of mobile users: how they behave, what drives retention and conversion, and how mobile-native growth mechanics differ from web.
  • Actively uses AI tools as a core part of your engineering workflow — not just for code generation, but for building repeatable workflows and bridging across stacks.
  • Outspoken and proposal-driven: you come to the table with a point of view, push back when you disagree, and bring data and a counter-proposal rather than just flagging concerns.
  • Strong cross-functional communication — comfortable working with Product Manager, Business Development, and local markets to align on goals and hold the line on engineering quality.
  • Data instincts: you think in funnels, know how to instrument what matters, and use metrics to drive decisions.

  • Mobile development experience in iOS (Swift/Objective-C) or Android (Kotlin/Java) — or backend experience building growth systems that serve mobile apps directly (e.g. growth APIs, attribution pipelines, notification infrastructure).
  • Experience with Rust or other systems languages — especially candidates who have recently migrated from mobile-native stacks and are building fluency in backend tooling.
  • Depth in mobile attribution and MMPs (AppsFlyer, Adjust, SKAdNetwork).
  • ASO operational experience (App Store Connect, Google Play Console).
  • Experience building referral systems, k-factor mechanics, or anti-fraud layers.
  • Background in fintech, crypto, or regulated consumer financial products.
  • Experience operating across US, EEA, and APAC markets.
  • A/B experiment framework ownership at meaningful scale.
