Set Up Technician

The Set Up Technician is responsible for the efficient and precise set up, adjustment, and maintenance of injection molding machines. This role is crucial in ensuring a smooth transition between jobs, minimizing downtime, and contributing to the overall success of our operations. This individual will comply with provincial and federal legislation, company and health & safety policies and ISO quality program and procedures

Job Details:

• Full Time Monday-Friday, Saturdays as needed
• Days/Afternoons Rotation
• 10.5 hour shifts, paid lunch

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: 

• Knowledge of arithmetic, geometry, and their applications
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the capability of recognizing and solving problems
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
• Ability to readily determine the correct tools and equipment needed to do a job
• Capable of being certified to operate heavy equipment such as a forklift and crane (installing molds of up to 100,000lbs) 
• Must be able to stand/sit for extended periods of time
• Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs
• Must be able to lift heavy material 

Responsibilities: 

• Perform initial set-up of tools and components on Boring Mill, Automatic, and Semi-Automatic machines
• Load and unload materials from pallets, skids, trucks, and lifting devices as required
• Empty metal chip bins from machine work stations as required
• General housekeeping of working area, shop floor, etc.
• Participate in continuous improvement tasks and projects as required
• Positively contribute to a healthy corporate culture by building trust, teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement
• Other duties as assigned

Wage Range:

$20-22/hour + Afternoon Premium
