About the Role The Software Development Engineer III (SDE III), a Senior Engineer, owns large systems and technical workstreams within OBZ delivery engagements. The SDE III drives architecture, design, and delivery of complex production software for enterprise AI systems in regulated environments, and provides technical leadership to engineering teams. This role combines deep hands-on engineering with design ownership, mentorship, and direct engagement with client stakeholders. At OBZ, all engineers are expected to use AI tools effectively in their daily work. AI assistants and workflow automation tools are expected to improve engineering productivity, testing, debugging, documentation, and delivery execution. What You Will Do Own the design and delivery of large-scale systems, services, and platform components. Lead technical workstreams within engagements and set technical direction for a team or module. Drive architecture reviews, low-level and high-level designs, and solution documentation. Build and operate production systems on AWS, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability. Establish engineering standards, CI/CD, testing strategies, observability, and DevSecOps practices. Mentor and grow engineers through reviews, guidance, and technical coaching. Partner with architects, delivery leads, and client stakeholders on technical decisions. Identify and resolve complex production and performance issues. Contribute reusable engineering assets, accelerators, and frameworks across delivery teams. Champion effective use of AI tools across the engineering team. Requirements What We Are Looking For 6 to 10 years of experience delivering production-grade software at scale. Deep engineering capability in Python and/or other modern languages, with strong system design skills. Proven experience owning architecture and delivery of complex systems end-to-end. Strong AWS expertise across compute, networking, security, and data services. Expertise in CI/CD, testing, observability, DevSecOps, and production operations. Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical workstreams. Ability to work directly with client stakeholders in enterprise delivery environments. What Sets You Apart You have architected and delivered production systems in regulated or high-scale enterprise environments. Experience with AI/LLM systems, agentic frameworks, or data platforms. You have introduced engineering practices, tooling, or frameworks adopted across teams. You combine strong engineering execution with effective stakeholder communication. Travel and Location OBZ clients are based across Southeast Asia, ANZ, and Japan. Travel and onsite engagement requirements may vary depending on project needs. Relocation support may be considered based on business requirements. What Success Looks Like Systems you own are scalable, secure, observable, and maintainable in production. You are a trusted technical partner to delivery and client stakeholders. Language Fluency in spoken and written English is required across all markets. Strong communication skills are important for collaboration across engineering teams, delivery teams, and enterprise stakeholders. Local language proficiency is considered an advantage, particularly in Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines.
