As a Software Engineer at Onit, you will use your knowledge and experience as part of a team that designs and implements new features and APIs as part of the OnitX AppBuilder Platform Development team. The primary focus of this position will be on enhancing the engine that enables our Products team to build applications that we sell in the Legal Tech market. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently on Back End development as well as demonstrate a willingness to learn to growth the breadth of their skills and become more of a full stack developer. The ideal candidate will understand the benefits of collaborative design and development and will be able to mentor more junior development and QA resources.

The current tech stack includes Ruby on Rails, React, JavaScript and PostgreSQL. We deploy to AWS. We are an agile software development shop and believe in automated testing.

Design, develop, and implement new modules and APIs for the Onit App Builder and BillingPoint

Plan, build and launch features for our products

Work closely with our designers and project management team to craft well thought out user experiences

Estimate development tasks and meet deadline

Automate test cases when needed

2+ years of experience using current language(s) for web development.

Experience with front-end development and technologies including JavaScript and React is required.

Dynamic languages such as Ruby on Rails.

Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of the SQL language and relational databases. Experience with PostgreSQL is a plus.

Working knowledge of CI/CD concepts. Experience with AWS, containerization and Kubernetes are highly desired.

Demonstrated understanding of full cycle development leveraging Agile methodologies.

Ability to work and develop in Mac/Linux environment.

Bachelor of engineering in computer science/Software engineering or other similar equivalent disciplines is required.
