Trade Associate - Fixed Income

Tidal is seeking a highly skilled Trading Associate to support the implementation and day-to-day management of multiple ETF portfolios, with a particular emphasis on fixed income trading, cash positioning, and collateral management. The ETF Portfolio Management team provides portfolio management and execution services for ETF issuers across active and index-based strategies covering major global asset classes.

• Assist traders with executing and managing fixed income and equity transactions, with a strong emphasis on fixed income markets.

• Use Bloomberg, order management systems, and other institutional platforms to support efficient trade execution and portfolio oversight.

• Support portfolio rebalances, new fund launches, and custom in-kind baskets, with the expectation of independently managing these responsibilities over time.

• Work closely with prime brokers, market makers, custodians, and other counterparties to support best execution and improve fund efficiency.

• Monitor market trends, economic developments, portfolio positioning, and performance relative to fund objectives and direct competitors.

• Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, and perform additional duties as assigned.

• Perform daily trading operations, including trade allocation, settlement monitoring, and reconciliation across fixed income and equity activity.

• Prepare and distribute daily cash position reports for assigned ETF portfolios.

• Monitor inflows and outflows, investigate exceptions or variances, and communicate cash movements to internal and external stakeholders.

• Track account balances and forecast liquidity needs to maintain appropriate cash and collateral coverage.

• Coordinate collateral and margin activity with counterparties and support the timely movement or return of excess cash and collateral.

• Use Bloomberg and counterparty portals to gather information, investigate breaks, and resolve discrepancies.

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, a quantitative discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

• At least 3 years of experience in institutional trading, portfolio operations, treasury, or cash management, including demonstrated fixed income trading experience.

• Institutional or registered investment adviser trading experience.

• Proficiency with Bloomberg or a comparable institutional trading platform.

• Strong understanding of financial markets, trading strategies, trade settlement, reconciliation, and collateral processes.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.

• Strong analytical, communication, and complex problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage deadlines, maintain attention to detail, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience with trading platforms, order management systems, and post-trade processing.

• Knowledge of cash forecasting, reconciliation, margin, and collateral-management processes.

• Experience working for a firm that manages investment companies registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940.

• Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to trading activities.

• Proximity to Chicago or Omaha preferred
