The Quality Technician supports distribution quality activities through product inspection, measurement, material identification, nonconforming material management, and laboratory support. This role works closely with Quality, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to verify product conformance, support investigations, and ensure established quality processes and procedures are followed.
1. Product Inspection and Verification: Perform inspection, measurement, and analysis activities to verify product identification and conformance to applicable specifications.
2. Laboratory and Technical Support: Utilize appropriate measuring and test equipment to support dimensional verification, product evaluation, and laboratory activities.
3. Nonconforming Material Support: Assist with the identification, investigation, disposition, sorting, and rework of nonconforming material.
4. Quality System Compliance: Follow established Quality Management System requirements, customer-specific requirements, procedures, and work instructions.
5. Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with Quality, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to support timely resolution of quality-related issues.
Responsibilities

· Material Identification: Verify material identification through measurement, inspection, and analysis.
· Measurement and Testing: Properly use Quality and laboratory measuring and test equipment to evaluate product conformance.
· Operations Support: Support Operations with product identification and quality-related material verification.
· Nonconforming Material: Support investigation and timely disposition of nonconforming product.
· Sort and Rework: Perform sorting and/or rework activities in accordance with approved specifications and instructions.
· Laboratory Support: Collect and maintain required data supporting laboratory activities and KPIs.
· Corrective Action Support: Provide inspection, measurement, and other technical information needed to support investigations and corrective actions.
· Quality Compliance: Follow applicable QMS policies, procedures, work instructions, and customer-specific requirements.
· Audit Support: Participate in assigned internal audits within the distribution environment.
· Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain working knowledge of fasteners, surface coatings, locking/sealing patches, heat treatment, and other applicable product characteristics.
· Documentation: Accurately complete and maintain required inspection, laboratory, and quality records.
Conducting the following as assigned:
· Performing dimensional and visual inspection of product.
· Reviewing drawings and specifications to determine inspection requirements.
· Identifying unknown or suspect material through measurement and product evaluation.
· Utilizing calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical equipment, and other applicable inspection equipment.
· Documenting inspection and measurement results.
· Supporting nonconforming material investigations.
· Supporting material disposition and quarantine activities.
· Performing approved sorting and rework activities.
· Collecting laboratory KPI data.
· Supporting laboratory concerns and corrective actions.
· Assisting Operations with material identification and verification.
· Maintaining laboratory equipment and work areas in accordance with established requirements.
· Supporting other Quality activities as assigned by management.

Requirements
~1 min read· High school diploma or equivalent required; technical education or relevant additional training preferred.
· 1–3 years of relevant Quality, inspection, laboratory, manufacturing, or distribution experience preferred.
· Experience using dimensional inspection and measurement equipment preferred.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and product specifications; GD&T knowledge is a plus.
· Familiarity with basic problem-solving and continuous improvement methods, including 5 Whys and Root Cause Analysis is a plus.
· Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other applicable quality management systems is a plus.
· Distribution, manufacturing, automotive, or industrial experience preferred.
· Fastener product knowledge is a plus.
· Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and ERP systems.
· Effective verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to work within laboratory and distribution environments as required.
· Ability to handle, inspect, and manipulate product during inspection, sorting, and rework activities.
· Ability to use inspection and measurement equipment for extended periods as required.
· Infrequent travel to support business demands, <5%.
