About OSA

Ortho Spine America is a multi-specialty private practice integrating orthopedic surgery, interventional pain and spine care, and wellness and regenerative medicine. We believe musculoskeletal pain and mental health are deeply connected, and we are adding behavioral health to give our patients truly whole-person care.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to provide one in-office day per week. You will evaluate newly referred patients from our orthopedic and spine providers, follow established patients with psychiatric or behavioral health needs, and conduct consultations and treatment sessions with the BTL EXOMIND platform. This role is ideal for a clinician who enjoys collaborating with surgical and pain specialists and wants a flexible, focused schedule.

Schedule

  • One scheduled in-office day per week (approximately 8 hours), with additional PRN coverage available by mutual agreement
  • Day of the week to be determined based on candidate availability and clinic needs
  • Structured blocks for new evaluations, follow-ups, and EXOMIND consultations and sessions

Key Responsibilities

New patient evaluations

  • Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for patients referred by orthopedic, spine, pain, and wellness providers
  • Assess for conditions commonly co-occurring with chronic pain, injury, and surgery, such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, trauma-related symptoms, and adjustment disorders
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate care with the referring provider

Established patient management

  • Provide ongoing medication management and follow-up for patients with psychiatric or mental health needs
  • Monitor response, side effects, and safety, with particular attention to interactions with pain, perioperative, and controlled-substance regimens
  • Make appropriate referrals for therapy, higher levels of care, or community resources

EXOMIND consultations and sessions

  • Conduct candidacy consultations, including screening, history, and informed consent
  • Administer and oversee EXOMIND treatment sessions per manufacturer guidelines and clinic protocols
  • Track outcomes with standardized measures and document session parameters
  • Participate in the clinic's device research and quality efforts as applicable

Collaboration and compliance

  • Communicate regularly with surgeons, pain physicians, and care coordinators
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR in line with billing and compliance standards
  • Follow clinic SOPs, HIPAA, informed consent, and controlled-substance policies
  • Participate in case review and staff education as needed

Qualifications

Required

  • Active Florida APRN license with psychiatric mental health certification (PMHNP-BC), or equivalent, in good standing
  • Active RN license and national board certification
  • DEA registration and Florida controlled-substance prescribing authority as permitted by law
  • Master's or doctoral degree in nursing with a psychiatric mental health specialty
  • Current BLS certification
  • Ability to practice under the clinic's physician protocol or collaborative arrangement as required by Florida law
  • Eligibility for payer credentialing

Preferred

  • 2 or more years of psychiatric experience in an outpatient setting
  • Experience with chronic pain, perioperative, or medically complex patients
  • Familiarity with neuromodulation, TMS, or similar device-based treatments
  • Comfort learning new technology and contributing to clinical research
  • Experience with athenahealth or a comparable EMR

Skills and Attributes

  • Compassionate, patient-centered communication
  • Sound clinical judgment and strong documentation habits
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach in a procedural and surgical environment
  • Reliability and professionalism in a part-time, independent role
