About Other.
Other. is raising the bar in Canadian advertising, setting a new standard for accountability, transparency, and opportunity.
We’re a privately owned, Toronto-based team in a strong growth stage, building a business that values clarity, business impact, and high standards. We work in a hybrid model, with in-person time typically focused on onboarding and training, team collaboration, and client meetings.
About the Role
As a Media Planning & Strategy Associate, you’ll help turn strategy into clear, well-built media plans that teams can confidently act on.
This role is a good fit for someone who works carefully, makes sense of information quickly, and can keep planning work moving without needing step-by-step direction. You’ll build planning documents, manage budgets and allocations, capture the thinking behind recommendations, and work with other teams to make sure plans are clear, complete, and ready to move forward.
You’ll be expected to produce strong planning work, communicate clearly, and use good judgment within your scope, while continuing to build your strategic thinking and confidence over time.
What you’ll do
- Build and update blocking charts, budgets, channel allocations, and supporting documentation across digital and traditional channels
- Turn briefs, audience insights, past performance, and strategic direction into clear planning outputs that are accurate and ready for activation
- Apply planning frameworks and channel logic to support effective media recommendations
- Maintain accuracy across numbers, assumptions, and documentation
- Document assumptions, decisions, rationale, and next steps so teams can execute with clarity
- Work with Performance, Creative, and Client Service to gather inputs, clarify needs, and support smooth handoffs into activation
- Prepare accurate materials for internal reviews, working sessions, and client-facing presentations
- Identify inconsistencies, missing information, or unclear direction early enough to avoid downstream issues
- Incorporate feedback and revisions into plans and supporting materials
- Use AI thoughtfully to improve efficiency, clarity, and output quality within your scope
What you bring
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in media planning, media strategy, or integrated planning in an agency, vendor, or in-house media team, including exposure to a full media planning cycle from brief intake through plan development, review, and tactical activation
- Working knowledge of digital and traditional media channels and core planning principles
- Ability to build accurate planning outputs, including budgets, channel splits, and blocking charts
- Strong numeracy and attention to detail across numbers, assumptions, and documentation
- Ability to turn information into clear, actionable planning outputs
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and keep work organized
- Comfort receiving feedback and applying it to future work
- Confidence using tools, data, and AI support responsibly to improve efficiency and quality
Nice to have
- Experience with integrated planning across channels such as digital, video, audio, OOH, or print
- Familiarity with planning and research tools such as Vividata, Comscore, Numeris, or platform planning tools
- Experience contributing to planning rationale, internal reviews, or presentation materials
- Experience working with budget tracking, finance processes, or planning documentation in an agency setting
Transparency
Compensation is based on experience and skill set.
We use AI-assisted tools to support parts of our resume screening and assessment process. All hiring decisions are made by humans.
This is a new role, in response to growing business needs
Why you might like working here
- You’ll do meaningful planning work, not just support around the edges
- You’ll have the opportunity to build strong judgment, rigour, and planning ownership
- You’ll work with a team that values clarity, transparency, and real business impact
- You’ll get feedback that helps you improve, not just review cycles that tell you where you missed
- You’ll be part of a company trying to build a better standard for how agency work gets done
