About the Role

Oula Health is looking for a part-time OBGYN who is excited to participate in our collaborative care model. We’re looking for a thoughtful and passionate physician leader who desires to be part of a dynamic practice that is setting a new standard of care for patients before, during and after pregnancy. In terms of clinical responsibilities, you will be providing direct patient care – spanning gynecological care and obstetrics - in the clinic setting. You will also collaborate with our midwifery team to offer additional support to patients requiring more complex care. 

Your schedule will consist of 20 hours of outpatient care, occasional scheduled C-sections/ECVs plus flexible self-directed administrative time where you will independently manage patient-related follow-ups and standard practice duties, including light peer reviews and chart audits to support patient safety and clinic standards.

Responsibilities

Direct Patient Care

  • Participate in direct antepartum and gynecological care including periodic scheduled gynecological and obstetrical procedures such as cesarean births
    • As part of that care provide clinical consultation for Oula midwives, actively participating in clinical collaboration – in the office and virtually
    • Manage patient related follow up such as setting care plans and following up on lab results and escalated patient messages
  • Act as the collaborating provider of record for midwives, nurses, sonographers, and medical assistants. Partner with the Lead Midwife to ensure that high quality evidence based care is being provided. 

Admin/Clinical Quality

  • Partner with the Lead Midwife to facilitate quality care, participating and presenting in didactic meetings
  • Participate in the peer review chart audit process and incident reporting RCAs
  • Act as a champion of collaborative care model among patients, in an OP/IP setting, and in the broader community
  • Passionate about improving maternity care through a combination of clinical care, patient empowerment and education 
  • Enthusiastic about patient-centered collaborative care models, leveraging midwives
  • Excited by the potential for tech to transform the pregnancy experience and drive greater personalization in terms of care 
  • Exude empathy and compassion for patients and team members and can rally the troops to provide exceptional patient experience 
  • Have an eye to ongoing quality improvement 

Requirements

  • Residency in obstetrics / gynecology 
  • Great patient reviews and reputation for exceptional patient care and bedside manner 
  • Experience with telemedicine or virtual care 
  • Licensed to practice medicine in North Carolina 

Oula offers a competitive total rewards package which includes base salary, and  comprehensive benefits. Exact compensation inclusive of salary and any bonuses is determined based on a number of factors including experience and skill level, location, and qualifications which are assessed during the interview process.
