Our mission at Oura is to empower every person to own their inner potential. Our award-winning products help our global community gain a deeper knowledge of their readiness, activity, and sleep quality by using their Oura Ring and its connected app. We've helped millions of people understand and improve their health by providing daily insights and practical steps to inspire healthy lifestyles.
Empowering the world starts with living our values and empowering our team. As a quickly growing company focused on helping people live healthier and happier lives, we ensure that our team members have what they need to do their best work — both in and out of the office.
We have offices in San Francisco and San Diego for those who prefer hybrid or office settings. Oura employees in other major cities (like Boston and New York) occasionally gather informally at local co-working locations.
Our Strategy team has three parts. Corporate Strategy shapes the long-term business bets we pursue. Strategy & Operations executes our go-to-market strategy and near-term growth opportunities. Business Planning runs annual planning, OKRs, and the allocation of resources against them.
As a Senior Manager, Strategy & Operations, you'll be the analytical horsepower behind our growth initiatives. You'll build market, competitive, and financial analyses and support strategic initiatives as they move from ideation into execution. We’re looking for a driven generalist that thrives thinking about ambiguous problems and can help bring solutions to those problems to life.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Build the analyses behind near-term growth opportunities: market sizing, unit economics, pricing benchmarks, and channel economics
- Develop financial models, value driver analyses, and scenarios that pressure-test initiatives before we fund them
- Take an ambiguous question from leadership, structure it, and come back with the "so what" rather than the data
- Build an outside-in point of view on market opportunities and carry it through to a clear implication
- Prepare executive-ready materials that distill complex inputs into a recommendation
- Support quarterly business reviews and leadership sessions with the analysis that frames the decision at hand
- Own our standing competitive watch across wearables, consumer health, and adjacent categories
- Publish a recurring competitive brief that closes with a recommendation, not a roundup
- Serve as the source of record on competitor pricing, packaging, product launches, and channel moves
- Conduct primary and secondary research across markets, customers, and competitors, including expert calls, survey and panel data, and public filings
- Feed structured market intelligence into Corporate Strategy's longer-horizon deep dives
- Partner with leads across GTM, Product, Finance, and Ops to move growth initiatives forward, providing the analysis and follow-through that keeps commitments on track
- Build the reporting that shows whether a launched initiative is working, and diagnose the gap when it isn't
- Replace manual, repetitive analysis with something durable, reaching for automation and AI-assisted workflows before reaching for more hours
- Manage ad hoc requests from leadership that require quick turnaround and a clear point of view
This is a hybrid US role with a strong preference for candidates based in the bay area.
Requirements
~1 min readWe would love to have you on our team if you have:
- 8+ years in management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, or in-house strategy and operations, including at least one operating role at a company
- Financial analysis and modeling as a genuine strength. This is a must-have, not a nice-to-have
- Structured problem solving. You break big, messy problems into parts, work hypothesis-first, and don't get lost in the details
- Experience running market or competitive analysis and stating a calibrated view from incomplete public data
- Comfort with SQL and a BI tool, or the appetite to get there within a quarter
- Excellent written and verbal communication. You can distill complexity into clarity and write to a conclusion in a page
- Ability to work independently across multiple workstreams where the focus and topic shift often
- Track record of partnering with cross-functional teams to get a decision made rather than a deck delivered
- Comfortable in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where priorities shift
- Experience in consumer tech, subscription businesses, ecommerce, or digital health is a plus
