Our client, a leading organisation within the ship repair and industrial sector, is seeking an experienced QHSE Manager to lead and strengthen its Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental function.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining QHSE policies and procedures in line with international standards, ensuring full compliance across all operational activities. This role plays a key part in driving a strong safety culture, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain QHSE policies and procedures in compliance with international and local regulations (ISO, IMO, SOLAS, OHSAS, etc.).
  • Monitor compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality standards across all operations.
  • Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Design and deliver training programmes to raise awareness of QHSE standards among employees and contractors.
  • Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and report findings to senior management.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to integrate QHSE requirements into project planning and execution.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and prepare QHSE performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, and environmental performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a QHSE management role, preferably within maritime, shipbuilding, or industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of international safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and implement effective improvement measures.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in English; additional languages will be considered an asset.
  • Leadership and team management.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
  • Effective communication and training delivery skills.
  • Proactive approach to risk management and compliance.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and safety culture.
