Staff - Durability/Reliability Test Engineer

The Durability/Reliability Test Engineer will lead vehicle validation programs for Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, coordinating on‑road and proving‑ground tests, analyzing data, and collaborating with design, quality, and global engineering teams. The role ensures trucks meet stringent standards and supports new product and technology roll‑outs.

• Plan and execute vehicle reliability and durability test programs, including on‑road and proving‑ground assessments.
• Coordinate vehicle preparation, instrumentation, and test setup activities.
• Monitor vehicle performance during testing, identify failures or abnormal behavior, and support root‑cause analysis.
• Analyze test data and prepare technical reports with findings, recommendations, and presentations for senior management.
• Track test progress to ensure compliance with project timelines and validation standards.
• Conduct meetings with local and global stakeholders to align test objectives and resolve issues.
• Manage test vehicles, spare parts, and related documentation throughout the validation cycle.
• Support benchmarking activities and validation of new products and technologies.
• Collaborate closely with design, quality, and supplier teams to address component and system issues.
• Travel as required to conduct testing at various sites and customer locations.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline.
• 3–10 years of experience in vehicle testing, durability, reliability, or validation activities.
• Good understanding of commercial vehicle systems such as chassis, suspension, braking, powertrain, steering, and body structures.
• Experience with data acquisition systems and test instrumentation.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Proficiency in English communication, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to travel for testing activities.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Vector CANalyzer, CANape, Diadem, MATLAB).
• Experience working with cross‑functional and international engineering teams.
• Technical curiosity, hands‑on approach, and strong ownership mindset.
