As a Team Lead within the Chassis function, you will be responsible for leading end-to-end engineering of safety attachments for commercial vehicles. You will drive project execution in collaboration with global teams, ensure adherence to regulatory and quality standards, and lead a team of engineers to deliver defect-free products aligned with project timelines.

This role requires strong technical expertise in automotive design, program management capability, and leadership acumen to enhance team capability, foster innovation, and support cross-functional business objectives.

  • Lead the design, development, validation, and release of frame-mounted safety systems, including rear and side underrun protection systems

  • Deliver project milestones and Quality Gate requirements in line with time, quality, and cost objectives

  • Drive engineering decisions balancing safety, quality, manufacturability, cost, and customer needs

  • Ensure compliance with global regulations, internal standards, and product development processes

  • Lead verification, validation, and proactive project risk management

 

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of seven engineers and system leads

  • Drive performance, capability development, and succession planning

  • Build a culture of ownership, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement

 

  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams across Germany, Türkiye, Brazil, and India

  • Represent the team in global reviews, technical discussions, and management reporting

  • Build strong cross-functional and cross-regional relationships to ensure successful project execution

 

  • Drive material cost-efficiency targets, key performance indicators, and engineering best practices

  • Champion digitalization, design optimization, complexity reduction, and cost improvement

 

  • Ensure adherence to Daimler Truck policies, quality standards, and internal processes while promoting safety, integrity, and accountability

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering; a master’s degree is an advantage

 

  • Extensive experience in automotive product development, ideally within a commercial vehicle OEM

  • Proven leadership of engineering teams in an OEM and experience in global, multicultural organizations

 

  • Strong expertise in commercial vehicle structures, frame systems, and safety attachments

  • Sound program management knowledge and understanding of automotive development and release processes

  • Proven people leadership and engineering talent development

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and intercultural collaboration skills

  • Ability to influence across functions and locations, with a business-oriented and improvement-driven mindset
