Mobile Diesel Trailer Technician (Bowling Green, KY)

Job Overview

The Mobile Diesel Technician is responsible for performing on-site diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on diesel trucks and related equipment at customer locations or designated service areas. While the primary focus is diesel repair, this role also supports trailer maintenance and repair as part of overall service delivery. This position requires strong technical expertise, independent problem-solving, and a commitment to safety and customer service while representing the Company in the field. 

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on diesel trucks and equipment in a mobile environment
• Support trailer repair and maintenance, including structural and component repairs as needed
• Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections, including DOT inspections as applicable
• Diagnose and repair systems including:
• Diesel engine systems (fuel, air, cooling, exhaust)
• Brake and wheel systems (truck and trailer)
• Electrical and lighting systems
• Suspension and steering components
• Trailer components (doors, panels, floors, undercarriage, axles)
• Liftgates and hydraulic systems (if applicable)
• HVAC systems (EPA 609 certification required for A/C work)
• Perform basic welding and fabrication for trailer repairs (as needed)
• Accurately document work performed, parts used, and labor hours on a hard card.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair needs, timelines, and recommendations
• Maintain organization and inventory of mobile service truck, tools, and parts
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE
• Respond to service calls in a timely manner and manage workload independently
• Represent the Company professionally at all customer locations
• Other duties as assigned by manager

Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training a plus
• 2+ years of diesel repair experience (mobile experience preferred)
• Exposure to or experience with trailer repair a plus
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL a plus
• EPA 609 certification required for HVAC work
• DOT inspection certification (or ability to obtain)
• Welding/fabrication experience a plus
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong communication and customer service skills

Warehouse/Shop Environment

• Must be able to lift/carry 25 lbs frequently.   
• Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs occasionally.   
• Must be able to lift/carry 100+ lbs infrequently.    
• Prolonged periods of walking and standing.   

• Field-based role requiring travel to customer locations
• Work performed in outdoor environments, customer yards, or designated safe service areas
• Schedule may include extended hours, evenings, or weekends based on business needs
