Video Director

At PakWheels, we are looking for a creative and experienced Video Director to lead the creative direction, production quality, and execution of our long-form video content, with a primary focus on growing and reviving YouTube performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of YouTube content strategy, audience behavior, storytelling, and end-to-end video production. The Video Director will be responsible for developing compelling video concepts, directing shoots, guiding talent and production teams, and ensuring content is optimized for audience retention, engagement, and channel growth.

• Develop and execute strategies to increase YouTube long-form content growth, views, watch time, and audience retention.
• Analyze YouTube trends, audience behavior, competitors, and content performance to identify growth opportunities.
• Work closely with the content team to develop video ideas, formats, and series that align with audience interests.
• Understand YouTube algorithms, packaging (titles/thumbnails), retention patterns, and viewer psychology.
• Identify reasons behind underperforming content and implement improvements in storytelling, pacing, and production approach.
• Build strategies to revive long-form content performance and increase channel engagement.

• Lead the complete video production process from concept development to final delivery.
• Direct video shoots while maintaining high production standards and brand consistency.
• Develop shooting plans, creative approaches, visual styles, and production requirements.
• Manage camera direction, framing, angles, movement, and overall visual storytelling.
• Plan locations, shooting setups, equipment requirements, and production workflows.
• Supervise camera operators, editors, and production teams where required.
• Ensure final videos deliver strong storytelling, engagement, and viewer retention.

• Create compelling narratives and structures for automotive content.
• Guide hosts, presenters, celebrities, and talent during shoots to achieve the desired performance.
• Ensure videos have strong hooks, pacing, and storytelling elements suitable for YouTube audiences.
• Direct interviews, reviews, features, documentaries, and entertainment-based content.
• Maintain consistency in tone, quality, and visual identity across all productions.

• Oversee editing direction, including pacing, transitions, graphics, sound design, and overall storytelling flow.
• Work closely with editors to optimize videos for YouTube audience retention.
• Ensure final outputs meet production quality standards before publishing.
• Provide creative feedback during the editing process.

• 3–5 years of experience in video direction, production, or content creation.
• Strong understanding of YouTube content creation, growth strategies, and audience analytics.
• Proven experience developing and executing successful video content strategies.
• Strong command of visual storytelling and directing techniques.
• Hands-on understanding of camera operations, cinematography, and production setups.
• Experience managing complete video production cycles.
• Strong knowledge of audio production and sound quality requirements.
• Experience working with editors, camera teams, and production crews.

• Experience working on YouTube channels, web series, short films, documentaries, or dramas.
• Experience directing celebrities, influencers, presenters, and professional talent.
• Automotive, lifestyle, entertainment, or digital media experience will be preferred.
• Experience in creating content focused on audience growth and engagement.
