The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing full cycle accounting functions including preparation of financial reports for several Company-operated stores.

Responsibilities:

Accounting – Company Stores

• Responsible for full cycle accounting for several company operated stores (A/P, Financial Reporting)
• Essential to understand Financial Statements and full cycle accounting
• Prepare and process month-end and year-end closing activities in accordance with given timelines.
• Import, reconcile, and validate sales and other Store data within the accounting system (NetSuite)
• Prepare accurate monthly financial statements and maintain supporting schedules.
• Review accounting transactions, reports, investigate variances, and provide explanations for unusual activity.
• Maintain the general ledger and support documentation for assigned Company operated stores.
• Receive, review, and process financial and operational materials submitted by company-operated stores.
• Work with team and Operations to ensure accurate presentation of financial activity.
• Provide Supporting documentation for annual audits of Company -operated stores.
• Organize and box accounting records for secure storage and retrieval.

Financial Database Systems (FDS)

• Maintain store year end information including fiscal year-end dates and statement tracking.
• Review, scan, and digitally file financial statements and supporting documents received from franchise partners.
• Validate and enter Financial Statement information received into FDS

Other Duties

• Assist with Business license applications / renewals for Quebec company operated stores.
• Set up / close utilities, security and other vendor accounts for new/transferred stores. 
• Provide Bookkeeping Training in French to new franchise partners.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
