JHK Legal is a reputable, national law firm committed to providing high-quality legal services to our clients. Emphasising a relationship-driven approach, our firm works collaboratively with clients, offering multi-disciplinary legal assistance across Corporate & Commercial and Private Client practice groups.
We are currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Clerk to join our Finance Team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build their career within a supportive professional services environment while gaining exposure to legal finance, trust accounting and settlements.
As an Accounts Officer at JHK Legal, you will play a key role in supporting the firm's day-to-day finance operations. This hands-on position involves accounts administration, reconciliations, settlements support and accounts receivable activities.
A key component of the role is following up outstanding accounts, so you'll need to be comfortable communicating professionally with clients via phone and email to discuss payments and resolve queries. Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Process daily financial transactions including receipts, payments, journals and account reconciliations.
- →Assist with trust accounting activities, bank reconciliations and month-end finance processes.
- →Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up overdue invoices with clients in a professional and customer-focused manner.
- →Support the preparation of settlement documentation and assist with legal finance and trust-related transactions.
- →Liaise with clients, lawyers and internal stakeholders to resolve billing queries and maintain accurate financial records.
- →Provide general administrative and finance support to the team while contributing to efficient processes and workflows.
- Have strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Be confident and professional when discussing outstanding payments with clients.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Possess strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Have intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using finance systems.
- Take a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Be a positive, team-focused contributor with a willingness to learn and assist others.
Requirements
~1 min read- Ideally experience in accounts or financial support, bookkeeping, collections or administration.
- Strong administrative and financial processing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
