Cytopathologist/Surgical Pathologist

PathGroup is seeking an AP/CP Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pathologist with subspecialty training or strong experience in Cytopathology to join our high-volume, collaborative pathology team in Greenville, South Carolina. This full-time role offers a strong emphasis on cytopathology while maintaining a required general surgical pathology component within a large, subspecialty-supported practice environment.

There is an opportunity to take on increased responsibility within cytopathology over time, including potential future leadership duties.

• Primary focus on cytopathology cases (gynecologic and non-gynecologic)
• General surgical pathology sign-out is a required part of the position
• No autopsy requirement
• No grossing responsibilities (dedicated Pathologist Assistants onsite)
• No cytology screening responsibilities (supported by cytotechnologists)
• Participation in ROSE and EBUS coverage on a scheduled rotation
• Frozen section coverage shared across surgical pathologists
• Strong internal subspecialty consultation support

• →Cytopathology sign-out including gynecologic, non-gynecologic, and FNA specimens
• →General surgical pathology sign-out as part of routine responsibilities
• →Participation in ROSE, EBUS coverage, and frozen section services
• →Contribution to interdisciplinary clinical discussions and tumor boards
• →Engagement in lab quality assurance and CAP compliance initiatives
• →Participation in shared practice responsibilities beyond slide sign-out

• →Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
• →AP/CP Board Certification or Board Eligibility
• →Board Certification or Eligibility in Cytopathology preferred
• →Eligible for South Carolina medical license
• →Comfortable working in a high-volume environment
