Clarvida is seeking an innovative and purpose driven individual to join our team as an Certified Peer Support Specialist in Mandeville, LA. About the Role 

As a Certified Peer Support Specialist, you will work as a member of the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team, serving as a critical component of care to adults with severe mental illness, in their homes or in the community. You will work with a team of multidisciplinary staff to help each client succeed in being able to live happy, successful, and productive lives, all while being able to stay integrated with the friends, family, and community.   

In your role, you will provide support and the knowledge from your own lived-experiences to adults with a severe and persistent mental illness or emotional disturbance who are actively involved in mental health treatment and on their path to recovery.   Our Peer Support services promote hope, wellness, and recovery outcomes for clients and their natural support system.  You will engage clients in their treatment and provide education, support, and community resource services to motivate their own recovery process.  You will be provided regular supervision to aid in your own professional growth and development.  This position includes client transportation using a company car, as needed and a one week on-call rotation every 6-8 weeks.  On-call is handled virtually or in person, depending on the situation, and earns additional PTO.  For optimal client success, you will meet with clients in the local community primarily, with some time spent in the office or via zoom/phone.  

Required Qualifications 

• High School Diploma, GED, or higher
• Previous personal, lived-experience with addiction, mental health diagnosis, or abuse and in recovery for at least 2 years. This position requires you to self-identify with clients to aid in their growth.
• Certified as a Peer Support Specialist (or ability to become certified) 
• Valid state driver’s license in good standing
• Preferred:  1 year or more of experience working with persons with the population served
