We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Manager – Payment Routing & Optimization to join our Payments Operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing transaction routing across multiple payment methods – including Cards and UPI – and across multiple acquiring partners. This role is critical to improving our transaction success rates, reducing costs, and ensuring the highest service levels to our merchants.

Key Responsibilities:

 Routing Strategy &Execution:

Develop and implement intelligent routing strategies for Cards, UPI, and other

payment instruments across multiple acquiring banks and payment partners.

 Optimization:

Continuously monitor success rates and transaction costs to identify improvement

areas and switch routing paths accordingly.

 Data-Driven Decision Making:

Analyze payment flow data, identify trends and performance patterns across different acquirers, and use this insight to drive routing rules and configurations.

 Acquirer Management:

Collaborate closely with acquiring banks and PSPs to understand capabilities,

downtime windows, fee structures, and technical updates.

 Monitoring & Alerts:

Monitoring and taking corrective actions as needed

 Collaboration:

Work with Business, product, and operations teams to implement routing logic and get issues resolved quickly

Required Skills and Qualifications:

 3–6 years of experience in payment routing, payment operations, or payment product management at a payment aggregator, gateway, fintech, or acquiring bank.

 Strong understanding of how a payment aggregator works – including transaction flow, success rate optimization, UPI and card payment mechanics, and acquirer integrations.

 Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable insights.

 Hands-on experience with routing tools, rules engines, or in-house routing logic is a strong plus.

 Familiarity with UPI PSP/acquirer ecosystem and card network regulations (Visa,

MasterCard, RuPay).

 Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

 Technical background or experience working with product/engineering teams.

 Exposure to real-time monitoring tools and dashboards

 Exposure and understanding of payment system architecture
