Network Engineer

Job Summary
The Network Engineer position is accountable for ensuring quality installation, configuration, and physical
deployment of all networking products and services provided by PCS, using industry best practices. This role
focuses primarily on switching, wireless access point configuration, and physical installation of networking
infrastructure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1 – IMPLEMENTS ASSIGNED PROJECTS AND TASKS
• Lead networking projects including configuration of layer 2 devices such as switches, wireless access
points, and wireless controllers
• Perform physical installation of networking infrastructure including wall-mount racks, outdoor access
points, and UPS systems
• Lead networking projects that can include layer 3 switches with static or OSPF routing, firewalls, and
Network Access Control appliances
• Configure and manage firewalls; SonicWall and Sophos experience preferred, though other firewall
platform experience is acceptable
• Work with Solutions Architect, Account Representatives, and Project Manager to ensure projects are
completed on time and to client expectations
• Document configurations to provide to the support team
• Provide training to IT staff at client locations as needed
2 – ASSISTS IN THE SALES AND SOLUTION DEVELOPMENT PROCESS
• Assist in developing bills of materials and scopes of work for client technical projects
• Deliver product demonstrations and contribute technical input during the sales process
3 – GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND IN CLIENT SERVICE

Travel Requirements
• Approximately 25–30% travel within Tennessee is required
• Infrequent travel to Kentucky, Missouri, and Texas
• Occasional overnight travel, weekend work, and after-hours work is required
Experience and Education Requirements
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technology-related field
• Experience in desktop and server operating systems required
• A minimum of 3–5 years of experience implementing and supporting Microsoft Active Directory
• Working knowledge of Active Directory, DHCP, and DNS required
• Experience in networking layer 2 and layer 3 required
• Experience deploying and using virtualization technologies required
• Experience in wireless technologies required
• Firewall experience required; SonicWall and Sophos preferred, other platforms acceptable
• Packet capture experience, both wired and wireless, preferred
• 802.1X experience preferred
• Must pass a TBI background check
• Preferred industry certifications:
Cisco CCNA Route & Switch
Aruba: ACMA, ACSA, ACCA
CWNP: CWNA
SonicWall: SNSA or CSSP
Sophos: Sophos Certified Engineer
Extreme Networks: ECS, ECA, or ECP
Juniper/Mist: JNCIA-MistAI, JNCIS-MistAI
Work Environment
• Must be able to lift 75 pounds, climb ladders, use hydraulic lifts, and use power tools on a regular basis
• Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor environments for access point and equipment installation
