Kosovo’s leading civil society organizations and public institutions are looking for strategic thinkers and grant‑writing mentors to shape a sustainable future.

Kosovo’s civil society has evolved from post‑war relief to long‑term development, yet many non-government organizations (NGOs) and public institutions now face funding instability as major donors shift their priorities elsewhere. Organizations serving marginalized communities, education, and public health remain dependent on a narrow set of traditional grants and lack a variety of income streams, such as private philanthropy or corporate sponsorships. Limited staff capacity, a lack of donor databases, and insufficient resource mobilization structures further constrain their ability to secure and manage funding. These gaps make it difficult for organizations to sustain essential services independently, underscoring the need for external support.

As a Resource Mobilization Advisor, you will collaboratively assess organizational assets, co‑design resource mobilization strategies, and mentor staff through the full grant lifecycle to strengthen the future of these essential programs. You will co‑write competitive proposals, expanding donor networks and improving grant‑tracking systems. By establishing sustainable fundraising frameworks and mentoring teams to manage them effectively, you will help ensure vital community services—from minority learning centers to neonatal healthcare support—can continue independently for years to come.
Bachelor's degree in business, economics, management, or other relevant field.
AND
Three or more years of experience working at a non-government organization (NGO) or a donor-driven organization on prospect/donor identification, grant writing, fundraising, or proposal development.
Volunteers typically live independently in the Pristina district or other urban centers with access to cafés, markets, and cultural events. Housing is modest and the Volunteer may experience occasional power outages or heating challenges in winter. Most Volunteers will live in an apartment, while others will live in a small house. The expected commute to the work site is 20–40 minutes by bus, taxi, bike or on foot.
Gain valuable experience in international project design, grant writing, and donor strategies.
Develop Albanian language proficiency through immersive, daily conversations.
Experience Kosovo’s vibrant culture and build lasting connections with your community.
Conduct a comprehensive assessment of funding streams, donor relations, and resource gaps.
Establish or refine a centralized donor database for tracking grants, reporting deadlines, and funding prospects.
Create standardized procedures and templates for proposal writing and donor communication.
Facilitate participatory training sessions for staff on donor research, proposal development, and impact reporting.
Identify and analyze new international, regional, and corporate funding opportunities aligned with strategic plans.
Collaborate with program teams to draft, edit, and package competitive grant proposals and concept notes.
Design a multi-channel fundraising initiative, such as crowdfunding, corporate partnerships, or individual giving programs.

You may also work on additional projects that meet the community’s interests and priorities, such as facilitating adult English conversation clubs or organizing community volunteer events.
After a two-week orientation on topics such as language, culture, health, and safety, you will move to an urban community where you will collaborate with NGOs or a university to assess the needed resources and develop a work plan in line with established goals.

Peace Corps/Kosovo will equip you with Albanian language resources and you may work with a tutor who can help you build basic language skills to connect with the community.
