Construction Inspector - PA, NJ and DE

Pennoni is seeking candidates with experience as a Construction Inspector who are interested in performing daily construction inspection and materials testing on exciting projects throughout the tri-state area of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Candidates for this position are to have a minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in either general civil/structural construction or experience as a construction inspector working on civil/structural projects. Depending on your previous experience, you will inspect various projects

Job Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting codes and standards
• Taking written and performance exams for certifications
• Working in the field on construction sites
• Performing material testing of concrete, soil, and masonry.
• Performing field observations and writing comprehensive reports on a daily basis
• Communicate and coordinate with supervisors, contractors, clients, and engineers
• Maintain a reliable means of transportation and be on time for daily assignment
• Capable of working construction hours which may include nights and weekends
• Capable of reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, codes, and standards

Required Attributes:

• High School Diploma
• 1 to 3 years related experience
• Computer Skills: Windows-based software, Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word, and Outlook) 
• Have or have to ability to achieve certifications such as:
  ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade 1
  ICC/ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector
  ICC Soils Special Inspector
  ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector
  ICC Spray Applied Fire Proofing Special Inspector
  ICC Structural Steel Bolting Special Inspector
  AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)

• Willing to work in the field performing some physical work
• Honesty and dependability
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Must be okay with working at heights for steel/welding inspection
• Able to work construction hours, may include overtime
• Reliable transportation
