As an Insights and Monitoring Analyst at Penta Group, you will use research and data to help clients understand what is shaping their reputation, how their communications are performing and which emerging issues could affect their business. Working alongside experienced colleagues, you will turn your findings into clear reports, presentations and recommendations that inform advice on communications, brand, public policy and government relations.
This role is suited to a recent graduate or early career professional who follows the news, enjoys research and writing, and is interested in how companies build trust and navigate complex business and policy environments. Responsibilities

Research and monitor media, social and policy developments to identify the issues, risks and narratives shaping clients’ reputations, and help prepare timely alerts and briefings.

Learn clients’ businesses, audiences and goals so research addresses the questions that matter most to them.

Support ongoing monitoring, benchmarking and communications measurement, as well as focused analysis on new client questions.

Write clear reports and presentations that explain findings and why they matter, and contribute to recommendations.

Organize and quality-check research data, including automated classifications, using Excel and research tools to spot patterns and present accurate findings

Collaborate with account teams and fellow analysts and participate in client meetings.

Manage deadlines, incorporate feedback and help improve the quality of our research.
Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Communications, journalism, political science, public policy, business, history and other social sciences are all relevant.

A strong interest in news, media, corporate reputation and public affairs

Strong research and critical thinking skills, close attention to detail and the ability to distinguish evidence from assumption.

Comfort with numbers and a working knowledge of Excel, with a willingness to build data analysis and visualization skills.

Strong time management and the ability to balance multiple deadlines.

A collaborative approach and a willingness to ask questions, learn from feedback and own the quality of your work.
The base salary range for this position will be $57,000 - $67,000, depending on a candidate’s experience and qualifications as they relate to the position.
What We Offer
~1 min readThis position is open to US based candidates, with a preference for those located in Washington, DC, New York City or San Francisco. Candidates in Washington, DC or New York City would work a hybrid schedule. Remote candidates will also be considered, with particular interest in those based on the West Coast.
Working hours will be agreed based on location and team needs, generally aligned with Eastern or Pacific business hours, or a schedule between the two. Team members may occasionally share responsibility for coverage beyond their usual working hours.
