Associate Project Manager

Our PK1Cloud Services team is looking for an Associate Project Manager to work full-time from either our Charlotte, NC or Newark, NJ office.

Supporting and managing assigned projects or workstreams from initiation through completion. Assisting in defining project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resource needs while maintaining comprehensive project plans.

Monitoring project budgets, burn rates, forecasts, and account-level financials. Helping maintain scope integrity and identifying potential budget or scope concerns for timely escalation.

Communicating regularly with clients, project team members, managers, and other stakeholders. Preparing project updates, facilitating routine discussions, and ensuring key decisions, action items, and expectations are clearly documented and communicated.

Coordinating cross-functional teams, including statistical analysts and developers, to maintain alignment, manage dependencies, and support the timely completion of project milestones.

Participating in and facilitating Agile project management activities, including sprint planning, prioritization, and deliverable tracking.

Facilitating daily stand-up meetings to track progress, identify blockers, document action items, and maintain team alignment.

Facilitating sprint reviews to review completed work and gather feedback and participate in retrospectives to identify successes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

Identifying project risks, issues, and dependencies; maintaining appropriate tracking documentation; assisting in developing mitigation strategies; and escalating concerns when necessary.

Coordinating project activities through completion, helping ensure deliverables are completed on time, outstanding items are resolved, and appropriate project closeout activities are performed.

Evaluating project performance, documenting lessons learned, and contributing to improvements in project management processes, tools, documentation, and team practices.

Foundational knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and tools, with exposure to managing or supporting projects, workstreams, schedules, deliverables, or cross-functional initiatives. Familiarity with Jira is a plus.

Exposure to Agile and Scrum frameworks and an understanding of concepts such as sprints, stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and backlog management.

Exposure to insurance, technology, IT operations, data-driven environments, or compliance-focused work is highly desirable. A willingness and ability to develop deeper technical and industry knowledge is essential.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders, participate confidently in discussions, and continue developing client-facing communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams, promote accountability, collaborate effectively, and develop the skills necessary to independently lead increasingly complex project activities.

Ability to identify issues, gather relevant information, think critically, and contribute to practical solutions, including knowing when issues should be escalated.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate project documentation, track action items, and meet deadlines.

Ability to prioritize responsibilities, manage competing deadlines, and organize work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.

Understanding of basic project risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation concepts, with the ability to identify and escalate potential concerns appropriately.

Exposure to project budgets, financial tracking, burn rates, forecasting, or similar financial concepts, with an interest in developing stronger project financial management skills.

Understanding of the importance of client needs, expectations, and feedback, with the ability to incorporate those considerations into day-to-day project activities.

Ability to adjust to changing priorities, project requirements, client needs, and business environments while maintaining organization and professionalism.

Demonstrated willingness to learn, receive feedback, expand project management and industry knowledge, and progressively take on greater project ownership and responsibility.
