Job Description:
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Video Technician to join our team and help bring the PGL events to life. You will be part of our existing production team and handle relevant broadcasting operations for our events taking place in PGL Studios or outside the country.
Responsibilities:
- Install and calibrate video equipment, such as video cameras, in different locations
- Align, adjust and maintain video equipment, to ensure the accurate line-up of camera output
- Operation of camera exposure, black level, and color balance controls, to match cameras and maintain overall picture quality during live and recorded programs
- Operation of the video equipment as necessary
- Switch video input sources from one camera to another
- Perform regular maintenance of video distribution and transmission equipment
- Front line maintenance of studio facilities and any liaison with Technical Support as required
- Test and resolve equipment issues
- Send in equipment for repairs as needed
- Determine filming sequences and camera movements
- Ensure equipment the safe transfer and shipment of equipment
- Maintain inventory of equipment
- Provide training to new employees ensuring that they receive operational experience across all relevant areas
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Related technical qualification or broadcast industry training
- Experience in vision control in broadcasting studios
- Knowledge of camera, lighting, graphics, routing, control, mixing and power systems
- Must have a critical approach to picture quality and have normal color vision
- Experience with up to date computer-driven vision technologies
- Knowledge of electrical and electronic equipment used in broadcast production
- A positive and problem-solving attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English
- Attention to details
- Teamwork skills
- Ability to multitask and work toward several milestones on various projects simultaneously
- Flexibility to travel abroad for events and work varying hours, including nights or weekends.
- Passion for video games & esports is a plus
