If you are sold on the vision of the company, you may want to consider the design team as a place to make this a reality. The design team at PhonePe is a bunch of creative trailblazers who are leading the effort to make a dent in the fintech universe. The design team consists of Product Designers, Visual Designers, Graphic & Motion Designers, and Illustrators who are all engaged in blending art and science into a promising value proposition for our users.
Share.Market is how PhonePe is rebuilding trading and investing for India. It's a full-stack broking platform — stocks, F&O, ETFs, mutual funds, IPOs, and WealthBaskets — with a research and intelligence layer (factor analysis on every stock, expert-curated baskets) sitting on top. It's a separate app from the main PhonePe one, and it's backed by PhonePe's reach, trust, and distribution.
This is a hard, interesting design problem. You're working with regulated financial products, real money, and a spectrum of users that runs from a first-time investor buying their first stock to an active trader running F&O strategies. The job is to make something genuinely powerful feel calm and trustworthy — not to bolt more features onto a busy screen.
You'll own design for Share.Market end to end. Today that means you, the craft, and a close partnership with product and engineering — this is a hands-on leadership role, not a manage-from-a-distance one. As the product grows, you'll build and lead the team around it.
You'll set the design direction, ship the work yourself when it matters, and be the person accountable for the quality of the experience. You'll report to the Head of Design (PhonePe Group) and work alongside the broader PhonePe design org, but Share.Market's design is yours to own.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Own the experience. Set the bar for what good looks like on Share.Market, and hold it. Strategy, flows, visual craft, microcopy — you're accountable for all of it.
- →Ship, don't just direct. Get into the file. Design the hard screens yourself. Prototype to find the answer rather than arguing about it in a doc.
- →Make complex things simple. Turn dense financial data and regulated flows into something a first-time investor trusts and a serious trader respects. This is the core craft of the job.
- →Partner closely. Work shoulder to shoulder with product and engineering as an equal. Bring the user's point of view to roadmap and tradeoff conversations early, not at the end.
- →Build the team. As Share.Market grows, manage and grow the designers around you, and set the standards they'll work to.
- 8+ years in product design, with real ownership of consumer products at scale. Some of that as a lead, whether managing people or anchoring quality for a product.
- Proven craft. A portfolio that shows depth, not just breadth — interaction design, visual polish, and clear thinking about why each decision was made.
- Domain knowledge is a strong advantage. This is a genuinely complex space — broking, F&O, market structure, the way regulation shapes every flow. If you've worked in trading, broking, or wealth, or you invest seriously yourself and understand it from the inside, that's a real head start. Not a hard requirement, but it counts for a lot.
- Comfort with complexity. You've designed for data-heavy or regulated products — fintech, trading, health, anything where the details are hard and the stakes are real. Or you can show us you'll get there fast.
- Systems thinking. You design with the whole product in mind, not one screen at a time. You're fluent with design systems and know when to extend one versus break from it.
- Strong written and verbal communication. You can write clear microcopy, make a tight argument for a direction, and give direct, useful feedback.
- Player-coach instinct. You're senior enough to lead and still want your hands on the work.
We hire and grow people around three things: craft, context, and community.
- Craft — the quality of the work and the attention to detail behind it.
- Context — understanding the bigger picture: the user, the business, the system you're part of.
- Community — building the people and the relationships around the work, not just the work itself.
We believe in subtractive design: the best version of a financial product usually has less in it, not more. We'd rather remove the right thing than add another feature. If that resonates, you'll like it here.
